Motivating Our Children in the Winter Months
As winter settles in, the cold and dark days can sometimes dampen children’s spirits and motivation. However, with a little creativity and encouragement, parents and caregivers can help keep kids
Hi, welcome to our page – my name is James and I am the director of Choice Home Tutoring Manchester West. I am a Neuroscientist, tutor of Maths and Science, musician and yoga teacher wanting to make a positive impact within the next generation of learners. We have a wonderfully diverse and promising youth ready to have an education system that reflects and serves their needs. Unfortunately schools alone sometimes cannot fulfil this and so this is why I believe tutoring has a serious place in today’s mainstream education.
Choice Home Tutoring offer a range of tuition services bespoke to your needs and budget. Each learner will benefit from a different service or collections of services and so we take the time to get to know all the families and tutors so that we can advise as best as we can. Whether you’re looking for support with exam preparation, the 11+, core skills or just a general confidence boost – we’re here to help!
Proudly serving Chorlton, Stretford, Trafford, Urmston, Davyhulme, Flixton, Whalley Range and Moss Side.

The GCSE results day seems like it was already a distant memory. There were stories of triumph, surprise and unfortunately for some, disappointment. By now your child will have chosen
The move to secondary school can be daunting for children (as well as parents!). We understand that there are many questions about how to prepare your child for the next
We provide top quality tutors to spend as much time as you’d like supporting your young learner in any subject. Whether that be early years support in reading and writing, or guiding students through their GCSE and A-level examinations – we will can supply the appropriately qualified tutor for you. When the match is right, a 1-2-1 tutor can have serious impact on the student’s grades, confidence and development. This is why we take care in finding the right person for the job.
1-2-1 sessions are particularly beneficial for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and we are able to provide SEN specialised tutors. Lessons can be taken in-person at the students home or online. A typical price range is between £35-40 inc. VAT.
Group tuition is an alternative way to provide quality contact time with experienced educators. Compared to 1-2-1 tuition, group tuition will still fulfil the learner’s needs but in a more social and co-operative environment where confidence and connections can be built. Not only can these sessions supplement the learner’s current at-home tuition, but it is also a suitable option for families who do not have the budget for a 1-2-1 tutor. Groups are kept no larger than 8 which studies suggests is the most effective for a group learning environment.
Group sessions typically cost between £15-25/session inc. of VAT. See below the groups sessions that are currently running
